CenTrax solves misalignment problem at large steel producer

One of the factories of the largest steel producer in the world had major problems with misalignment. In May 2016 a CenTrax underpart steering roller system SO 1600-P was installed. Immediately after starting up the installation, CenTrax steered the tire back to the centre.

One of the factories of the largest steel producer in the world had major problems with misalignment. These occurred on a short and a fast running conveyor belt. The 1600 mm wide belt is only 11 meters long and rotates at a speed of no less than 5 m/s. The conveyor belt installation is mobile and has two directions of rotation.

The challenge for CenTrax is to bring and keep this belt on the right track. In May 2016, a CenTrax underpart steering roller system SO 1600-P was installed. Immediately after starting up the installation, CenTrax steered the belt to the middle. Even after changing the direction of rotation, the belt remained perfectly centered, both loaded and unladen.
